Woodlands Zip-Tie Knot
This is a super easy knot to tie and it can make a rough day a little easier.

How to Tie:
Pull a bight in the middle of a section of rope around what you want to secure or bundle. Take the end of the bight, pinch the rope with both hands and roll two loops opposite each other. Bring the loops side-by-side to for a cow hitch. Then take the ends of the rope that are going around the object and thread one end through the two loops and other end through from the opposite direction. Tighten and dress, then tension by pulling both tag ends. Release by pulling one of the inside ropes individually.
I like to use this knot to temporarily hold conductors out of the way while making up panels. But I think its best use is a make-shift belt for your pants. If you forget or break your belt, just run a doubled over length of mule tape through your pants. Then tie this knot over one of your front pockets and tuck the excess rope inside the pocket. It holds your pants up without coming lose while you are working but you can easily release it by pulling one of the standing lines individually.

Safety Disclaimer: ⚠️ Material Handling Only
The knots and techniques demonstrated on this site are intended strictly for material handling, wire pulling, and equipment securement. > Never use these hitches and knots for life safety, fall protection, or overhead lifting of loads where a failure could result in injury or death. Always use OSHA-compliant, load-rated hardware (harnesses, shackles, and slings) for critical lifts. Your safety team is there for a reason—consult them for high-risk tasks. Master the craft, stay out of pinch points, respect the load, and live to tie knots another day.
