About Electrician Knots

Howdy Folks! My name is Lee Brandt. I was born in Montana and grew up between there and Wyoming. I'm a traveling Union Journeyman Electrician. and I’ve spent the last two decades navigating the complex world of industrial and high-voltage electrical work. From pulling heavy-duty conductors through intricate conduit runs to rigging massive transformers, I’ve learned one thing for certain: your work is only as reliable as the knots that hold it together.

I created Electrician Knots because I saw a gap in our trade. While there are a thousand websites dedicated to sailing, camping, and climbing knots, there weren't many resources dedicated to the specific, high-stakes rigging challenges we face on the job site every day.

This site is a living document of the specialized techniques I’ve mastered and the tricks passed down to me by veteran wiremen and linemen. Whether you're an apprentice learning your first Bowline or a seasoned pro looking for a more secure Pulling Hitch, my goal is to provide the technical rigging knowledge you need to work safely and efficiently.

In my spare time I enjoy fishing, hiking, cooking, and traveling the world with my lovely wife.
